A workhorse designed for technical trails, the Hoka Speedgoat returns with less weight and more traction than ever before. A new shoe from outsole to laces, this trail beast is updated with Vibram® Megagrip with Traction Lug for enhanced grip on loose soil. Retaining the same stack height and rocker profile, the Speedgoat 5 employs a lighter midsole compound and heartier, double layer jacquard mesh to inspire confidence on any terrain.
Weight reduction also comes from fewer overlays – helping work towards a more sustainable construction. Enveloping the toe and forefoot, a dynamic textile component lends exceptional flexibility and comfort during toe-off, as well as accommodating for potential footswell. Refinements to the tongue further add to the feeling of enhanced comfort to the top of the foot, adjacent to the ankle where friction can occur. Its midsole compound is even lighter than before, delivering HOKA’s signature smooth ride without reducing the stack height. This, combined with a double layered-jacquard mesh ensures our latest trail superstar inspires confidence on any terrain.

The drop of a shoe is the difference in height between the heel and forefoot. The greater the drop, the steeper the angle between your heel and forefoot.
For example, when barefoot, the heel and forefoot touch the ground at the same level: drop is 0. At the other end of the scale, when wearing high heels, the drop is much greater.
